Rock and Swivel

swivel chair 6

When I was a little girl we had an upholstered chair that would rock and swivel.  I loved that chair!  When my Mom wasn’t looking (or was ignoring the fact that I was doing something I’d been told not to) I’d sit with one leg in that chair and use the other to make myself go around and around as fast as I could.

Just when I think I’m ahead of schedule I decide I’m actually behind.

Just when it seems I’m getting almost to the finish line, I remember a few more things I wanted to do.

Folding Chair Makeover

My internet is finally back up and running.  After hours on the phone, 3 different modems, and a tech out for an hour they finally changed a password and viola!  it worked.  Go figure.  Why couldn’t they have tried that on Monday morning when I was on the phone with them the first time?  Seriously.  The tech didn’t do anything I hadn’t already done.  Oh well, I’m just glad it’s back.In the ‘down’ time I managed to get quite a few projects finished up for the Springfield flea market.  One week from today we will be setting up there!!  Woo-Hoo!  I’m praying for clear skies and perfect temps :D

The giveaway has ended and I just have to tell you how overwhelmed I am at the response.  The last giveaway I did that was just from me, just for fun was a couple years ago at least.  I was delighted then to have about 25 comments!  This time there were over 100 comments :)  Thank you so much to each and every one of you – you cannot know how much I appreciate you coming back here and supporting me!

Busy, Balance, and Some Creations

sarahs dress 2

Life is busy.  I would venture to think that it has always been that way.  I would guess that even Eve, clear back in the beginning of time, thought she was busy.  A whole different kind of busy – just figuring out how to do laundry and cook without anyone to show her how was probably enough to fill her days for a long time!

Tea Towel Handbag

DSC_0667-2

My etsy shop has been rather neglected by its owner lately.  I’ve been so busy with custom orders, projects, and life that I just haven’t had time to be creative or do any dusting and fluffing in the shop :)  So today I thought I’d repost about a cute little bag that is still hanging out on etsy.  Now this bag seems perfectly happy just hanging out but I know deep down in it’s little handbag heart it would be delighted to have a new owner – someone who would love it and fill it up with fun stuff and carry it around here and there.  Hanging out in a shop gets rather boring for the merchandise!

So enjoy this post from the archives!

Birthday Party

lila's party 2

My oldest daughter was our only daughter for 4 and a half years before her little sister came along.  When I had birthday parties for her I went all out – planning weeks and sometimes a couple months in advance.  I loved getting all the details in place and creating a fun party.  Daughter number 2 had a few parties with all the details and daughter number 3 had a couple – well, maybe one!  Somehow my stamina for getting all those fun details together waned as I got busier and had more kids to take care of.

This past weekend I was privileged to help out a friend who was putting together a fun, detailed birthday party for her little 1 year old.  My friend had all the details and crafty fun made, the decor items gathered, and she just wanted a bit of help getting it all set up.  I was delighted to help out – and I took my camera so I could share!!

Annie Sloan Unfolded – A Fabric Review

roman shade 33

Last fall I received an email asking if I would be interested in receiving some fabric from Annie Sloan Unfolded® to do a project with.  I don’t know how you would have reacted but I couldn’t get the word ‘YES’ typed fast enough.  No amount of repeating the word, capitalization, or italics and underlining could express my excitement either.  I love great fabrics, and I was positive that if their fabric was anything close to the quality of their paint I was gonna love it.  I was right :)
