Bridal

I very very very much enjoy making wedding dresses.  I have helped with the construction of two, helping with the design of one of those, and made 3 on my own.  All 3 of the Brides Dresses I have had to create from pictures, drawings, and/or descriptions from the bride.  I loved it!

I have also made quite a few dresses for Bridesmaids and Flower Girls.  I’ve lost count on those.  I need to go through photos and find them all :)

Bridal sewing is challenging ~ a challenge I enjoy.  I purchased a book on bridal sewing that a much-more-seasoned-seamstress friend recommended. Reading through it I kept wondering what could have possessed me to think I could make someone a wedding dress without any real knowledge of what I was doing!!!  (I had made one all on my own before I got the book)  It is wonderful to have the book to go to anytime I make another brides dress.

Here are some links to bridal sewing I have done:

  2. Jill, please ignore my post of a few minutes ago. I magnified your picture of the book and was able to see that it’s “Bridal Gowns: How to Make the WEdding Dress of Your Dreams” by Susan E. Andriks. I am on my way now to my local library to check it out. May have to purchase it eventually! Thanks for the tip.
