The Summer Market is almost here!

The Summer Market is almost here!  This coming Friday evening and Saturday.  Avon Lake, Ohio – 4-9 on Friday and 9-5 on Saturday.  This is their 9th year hosting this event.  This is my first year going.  And I’m going as a vendor.  I am so excited.  If you browse their facebook page you will see all the great vendors they are featuring who will be there.  If you are within driving distance I really think this one would be worth your time :D  If nothing else just come to say hi to me!  Admission is FREE!  Woo-Hoo!

I thought I’d share a bit of what I’ve been creating.  All the pics are from my iPhone.  I haven’t had the time (or the space) to stage any cool ‘after’ shots of my creations.  But this will give you a good idea of what I’m taking this weekend.

IMG_2427This is what my living room looks like right now.  It’s really starting to bug me.  Bugs everyone.  I NEED A STORAGE SPACE!

This suitcase just got detailed yesterday.  I love the Union Jack design.

This table is painted with MMSMP in Eulelie’s Sky with a bit of Kitchen Scale mixed in.  Maps are modpodged on.

Another shot of the pile.

And today the merchandising begins.  I really dislike the pricing.  I wish I could hire someone to come tag it all.  And pack it all up the best way for hauling.  The loading is supposed to happen tomorrow.

I am still working on a few things too.  Some pennant banners, I have a dress or top I’d like to get made for myself (my closet is in sad shape these days) and I still have a few odds and ends to get finished.  And more pillows if I can find the time and energy to get them made.

The tent was put up tonight to make sure I knew how to work it (it arrived on my doorstep a couple days ago and I ignored it for awhile as I just didn’t have time for it)

My ‘square’ arrived and I will hopefully be able to make it work to take credit cards at the event.  I got it to work for me here but it was a bit finicky.

I’m tired.  Exhausted.  And I have a Dr. appointment at 8 this morning.  Something is wrong with the skin on my hands.  I’ve been dealing with it off and on for over a year and I cannot figure out what it is or find anything that helps it or makes it better.  It runs its course (very painfully) and then is better for awhile and then flairs back up.  So it’s time to find out what it is while it is in the ‘bad’ state and the Dr. can see what I’m talking about.

  1. WOW is all I can say! That’s a huge amount of stuff in a short period of time AND you are still thinking of making an outfit to wear LOL? Have you been using ASCP when your skin condition flairs up on your hands? I’ve heard that from other people that it caused them skin and respiratory issues that their doctors told them to stop using it… That could be your issue…take that can with you to dr and see what he thinks… I have your tubs of MMSMP waxes coming with me to Avon Lake =)

    • Great weekend my friend! Was so fun to hang out with you. I have wondered if that paint has been a contributor to the stuff on my hands. turns out it’s a fungus and over-the-counter stuff is doing the trick. I’m not using much ASCP these days – just using up waht I have on hand and buying American Paint as I need new colors. Their colors are so much more fun anyway!

  2. I want it all! Everything you do is fabulous! My favorite is the ruffled pouf!

  3. Hope your doctor finds a quick cure. Your stuff is very nice.

    • Thank you! My doc is great and knew what it was right away – a sort of fungus – and was able to direct me to stuff I could buy over-the-counter. It’s working and my hands feel ever so much better :)

  4. Bless your heart. I’m praying for you. I don’t know how you do it all. I pray your sale goes well and you will have some rest time when it’s over.

  5. Avon Lake, Ohio. If I still lived in Ohio (Lake County) I would drop by, but I live in Virginia now. Good luck with the sale.

    • Thanks Tricia – it was a wonderful weekend! The weather behaved very well – only a bit of rain after 9 on Friday night. A few things got wet but no major damage – it was a success!

  6. Michelle says:

Oh how I wish I lived close. I want it all! I really really love the grain sac pillow. That one is a keeper and the gather signs love.
Sorry to hear about your hands. I hope you find out what is the source of the pain.
    Good luck with the sale.

    • Thanks Michelle! I had a great weekend, lots of sales and great weather. My hands are healing now that I know what it is and what to use! It’s a sort of fungus – along the lines of ringworm or athletes foot. I know, gross huh? So glad it’s getting better now!

Sure wish I was closer to help you get things ready. Hope you get mystery with your hands skin resolved so you don’t have to deal with it anymore. Can be very painful. Are you trying to collapse? Just get ready what you have, there will be other shows. Good luck to you also. Look forward to hearing how sale goes and how you do. Saw lots of things in those photos I’d love. Take care of yourself.
