Autumn Tablescape – 2014

Before we left on vacation I managed to squeeze in a quick Autumn Tablescape photo shoot.  I loaded up all my tableware and props and hauled them to a friend’s house to use her front porch and awesome outdoor table her hubby made for her this summer.

My friend used Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint on her table and benches and stained the top of the table.  I love the look she created, and it was the perfect backdrop for an Autumn Tablescape.

I used some of the old springs I bought from my Grandpa’s shop for vases for some of the gorgeous Hydrangeas cut from my friends flower bed.

Quirky but simple centerpiece created with old books, a pumpkin, vintage tickets, a clock face, and a Hydrangea tucked into the mix.

Any meal can be wonderful with the addition of some yummy, warm, fragrant bread.

I used wooden utensils I purchased from Pick Your Plum several weeks ago with a tablescape in mind.

Blue Ball pint jars are always fun.  Lids came with straw holes and were purchased from Decor Steals.  Striped Straws were from Pick Your Plum.

I had made some Pumpkin Soup a couple of days before I did this shoot.  At the last-minute before heading out the morning of the shoot I grabbed the leftovers.  I like the pop of color and warmth it adds to the photos :)

Besides the wooden utensils, the only thing I purchased specifically for this shoot were the pumpkins.  I bought them for $2 each, used them on my own porch for a couple weeks, then brought them to my friends house for the shoot.  Then I left them there for her to enjoy as a thank you for sharing her porch and table!  You can create your own tablescape for a fun, festive meal, or just to photograph by pulling out what you have in your cupboards, cutting some flowers from the yard, or if you don’t have flowers, use grasses, sticks, leaves, just be creative and use what is on hand!

I love setting and photographing tablescapes!  I’m getting ready to dig the Christmas decor out and start styling some shoots for December’s blog posts!

And just so you know I’ve not forgotten – here is a sneak peek of one of the slip covers I made last week!

Happy Day to you all – the weekend will soon be upon us again :D

  3. Wow- That is soooo pretty, Jill. That was a lot of work to trunk everything over to your friends for a tablescape. It was so worth it for US though. You did a wonderful job! The slipcover is looking GREAT! xo Diana
