No Vacancy?

No Vacancy

No Vacancy

A journey – long and hard,

A couple – tired and worn,

A town – o’erwhelmed with guests,

An Inn – but ‘No Vacancy’.

A night – so cold and dark,

A girl – so great with child,

A man – concerned and worried,

The news – No vacancy.

Lives – so busy and full,

Hearts – so brittle and cold,

Souls – so indifferent and hard,

Haughty Attitudes – No Vacancy.

No Vacancy 2

No Vacancy, No room, Fully Occupied,

No space for the Son of God.

Closed doors, closed hearts,

No Vacancy – No Room for the Savior of Man.

An Innkeeper – feeling compassion,

Space – in the animals pen,

Bed of straw – animal’s manger,

The only Vacancy found.

 No Vacancy 4

Quiet spot – a baby born,

A Savior for the World.

Humble beginnings – no Kingly birth,

Just a man, a girl, and God’s Creatures.

An angel – and shepherds and sheep,

Glad tidings – and heaven’s song,

A trip to town – in wonder and awe,

Bowing in adoration and praise.

No Vacancy 3

Eastern Kings – traveling far

A star – a dazzling miracle!

Gifts of gold – fit for a King!

Presented to the tiny Child.

Another king – cruel and proud,

In his heart – No Vacancy!

No room for another – soul so hard,

Jealous and making men suffer.

Hearts so hard, lives so full

Souls turned cold by the world

Do actions and attitudes all portray?

In us – No Vacancy?

No Vacancy 5

Tiny Child – blameless life,

Sacrifice – unblemished, pure,

Dying to save, Rising again,

Removing ‘No Vacancy’!

Gift of Love – freely offered,

Acceptance brings freedom from sin,

Souls washed white – hearts made soft,

Room – there is room for Him!!

                      -Jill Elaine Flory

She gave birth to her first child, a son.  She wrapped Him snugly in strips of cloth and laid Him in a manger because there was no lodging available for them.  – Luke 2:7 NLT

Wishing you all a very Merry, Bright, and Blessed Christmas.
