Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving!

My list of ‘thankful for’s’ is long.  It could fill pages and pages.  Today I want to focus on my blog friends.

I have been blogging for over four years.  But I’ve only called myself a blogger for about 7 months.  And in those 7 months I have made so many great new friends and my little blog has gained it’s own little community that continues to grow.

I basically started my blog on a whim one Saturday in August of 2008.  I’d been introduced to blogging by my IRL friend, Kara, when she started a blog to go along with her business.  Blogger made it so easy to start a blog for free – so I created one and I blogged for fun for 3 years.  At that point my sister started talking about starting a blog, and she did a bunch of research that I benefited greatly from!  Thanks Sis!  It didn’t take long to realize that WordPress was the way to go.  Over Christmas 2011 while my sister was here we talked blogging a lot.  And in early January 2012 I took the plunge, bought hosting, and launched a wordpress blog.  I kept up the old one and worked on the new one – some days almost pulling my hair out.  Amy Andrews blog gave me tons of info and it is thanks to her that I designed my blog myself.  In late March I hired Joy from 5 j’s design to do the switch from blogger to wordpress for me.  There are a lot of glitches that can happen when switching from blogger and I am so glad I paid to have a pro do that step for me.  I said a happy good-bye to blogger and have never looked back!  I love wordpress!

In May I linked a blog post up at a link party and my little community of blog friends began to grow.  Now, lest you think I had no friends on blogger, let me assure you that I did.  A lot of my IRL friends read my blog and I had some blog friends one of whom is Laura at Decor to Adore.  I found her blog early on in my blogging day and have read her blog ever since – and she pops in to see me too!  Love you Laura – and not just because you come comment on my blog!  For the most part though my blog was just another blog in the huge sea of bloggers.  It still is, but I have connected and made friends with a lot of great people and that makes me very happy and very thankful :)

Today I want to give you all a big cyber hug and say ‘THANK YOU’ for the support, love, and friendship that you have extended.
