Photo Party

Just what IS a photo party?  It’s when a couple of girls invite their dslr owner friends to get together and share tips of the trade!  Good food and drinks and some cute decor is optional but I think it makes it much more fun!!

I detailed some notebooks so everyone would have something to jot notes in.  I found the notebooks at walmart in the back-to-school aisle.  50 cents each!  The I bought one sheet of stickers and created one detail and made color copies for the rest.  Besides buying the one sheet of stickers I used stuff I had on hand for everything else.

Cheap Bic pens from the back-to-school aisle too.  Added some Washi Tape flags to the end to dress them up just a bit.

All ready and waiting on the guests to arrive!

This is the lovely little glade where your party was held.

There were plenty of cold drinks since the weather was not so cool!

Queen Anne’s Lace graced the table thanks to my co-host, Belle!

Kara brought mason jars with limelight hydrangea from her garden!  Belle and I each had a jar to take home and I’ve been enjoying mine ever since!  Thanks Kara!!

Iced Coffee

Belle made these adorable cupcakes!  Great idea huh!?!

Old negatives and old cameras for decor!  But of course!!

Belle also made these totally cute signs and attached them to old suitcases to mark the way to the river.

Of course everyone had to take pictures!  It would be fun to see what shots everyone got – every eye sees it differently!

As to other details of the ‘photo party’ we asked everyone to bring their favorite photo and to share why it was their favorite.  We talked and shared and learned new things about our cameras!  One tip that I can remember without going to find my notebook is that it is best to have the light source hitting a persons face from the 10 o’clock position.  Not 10 am but the light source landing on their face at the 10 position.  Did I say that right Glenna???  It was so much fun – I hope we can do it again!  Go here to see Belle’s post – it will totally be worth your time!
