Rain and D. Reyne

I had begun to think I wouldn’t get a blog post up tonight.  As I was sitting at my sewing machine, stitching away on my project for Freckled Laundry I heard an ominous rumble in the west.  My dear hubby had just decided to go mow the lawn.  I quickly informed him that he probably wouldn’t be mowing.  He needed me to tell him that because I’m sure he couldn’t hear the thunder rumbling.  Just trying to fulfill my role as help-meet :)

The storm moved in rapidly and proceeded to bless us with half an inch of rain.  And to deprive us of electricity for 2+ hours.  I did not consider that a blessing but I managed.  And besides sometimes blessings come in forms we don’t expect.  I DID consider it a huge blessing when it clicked back on about 2 minutes after I had resigned myself to sleeping in a very hot bedroom!

So instead of sleeping, I’m blogging for a bit.  I wanted to feature D. Reyne (pronounced Renee) and her delightful booth at the French Flea in Tipton.

She used blue chalkboard paint to make her sign and then did chalk art.  Isn’t it just lovely?!

Her whole booth was just delightful.  She even had a large vintage washtub filled with ice and water bottles!  I was parched so I was particularly happy to see those for sale!

I just love the way she drew some of the plates and arranged the real ones around them.

So cute.  And the pinwheels are so fun.

She had tons of really cool finds.

And here I am with Donna (on the right) and her daughter.  I think it’s her daughter.  I feel bad for not asking – I just assumed and now I wish I had asked for sure!  Donna has been in charge of making this flea happen since it’s beginning – I believe this one was number 4.  Donna will be taking a break from it for a while now but I’m sure her inspiration will still be seen!

Ok, now I feel better.  Blog post done, now I can go to bed :)  Have a Happy Thursday!

  2. Glad this bout of no electricity only lasted 2 hours. What a relief.

That booth was gorgeous. I am amazed at her chalkboard art talents. Definitely a booth I could have passed quite a bit of time looking through.
